Job summary

Iceni Consulting in Colchester invites an experienced Civil Engineer to join our design team. You will lead residential infrastructure design, develop drainage strategies, and coordinate with authorities and clients from early feasibility through to construction.

The role emphasises safety, sustainability and innovation, with opportunities to expand street lighting design and drainage planning experience within a collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in civil engineering.
• HND or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Experience reading/producing technical drawings.
• Knowledge of UK codes, design standards and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Guide junior team members with technical direction and reviews.
• Support business development with client relationships and fee proposals.
• Prepare surface water and drainage strategy reports for planning applications.
• Contribute to drainage/transport planning and pre-development feasibility.
• Manage project delivery, resources, deadlines and budgets.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports and drawings to scale.
• Act as client liaison and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
• Liaise with authorities, architects, engineers and designers.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and CDM health and safety standards.
• Conduct site visits and prepare drawings for tender to as-built.
