Job summary

Temp All Staffing Ltd in Colchester seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to join their established team. This client-facing role delivers a range of civil projects and procurement methods from inception to completion, with travel as required.

You will manage design and delivery, liaise with project stakeholders, and apply UK standards, QA/H&S, and drainage and highway design expertise on diverse schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or another relevant subject.
• Proficient with CAD, PDS or Civil3D and Microdrainage / FLOW.
• FRA experience.
• Competent with S278/S38 highway design.
• Experience in private and adoptable drainage design.
• Experience of earthworks and external level designs including 3D analysis.
• Knowledge of planning, specification, design, procurement and commissioning.
• Knowledge of current legislation and QA/H&S procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage, design, develop, create and maintain projects from small to large scales.
• Assess site due diligence, preliminary layout and final engineering design.
• Study and assess drawings, plans, specs and other construction documents.
• Determine budget, schedules and scope; deploy staff accordingly.
• Lead onsite construction teams and manage deliverables within budget.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and consultants.
• Ensure drawings and plans follow standard civil engineering practices.
• Obtain approvals from approving bodies and ensure UK standards alignment.

Job Summary

Temp All Staffing are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their well established business in Colchester. This role is a client facing position delivering a range of projects and procurement methods.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

• Assess the impact and feasibility of site due diligence, preliminary layout and up to the final engineering design
• Study and assess drawings, plans, specifications and other documents relating to construction projects
• Determine budget, project schedules and scope of work and deploy appropriate staff
• Manage deliverables on time and within the budget
• Direct, lead and support other engineering and skilled personnel in managing and executing multiple tasks and projects
• Lead and direct onsite construction teams
• Collaborate and interact with construction teams, architects and outside project developers and consultants
• Initiate and ensure standard civil engineering discipline in drawings and plans
• Adhere to best practices, standards and procedures of the company
• Designing to all relevant UK standards and guides
• Obtain approval from approving bodies

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or another relevant subject
• Computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages including CAD, PDS or Civil3D and Microdrainage / FLOW
• FRA experience
• Competent with S278/S38 highway design
• Experience in private and adoptable drainage design
• Experience of earthworks and external level designs including 3D analysis
• Knowledge of the planning, specification, design, procurement and commissioning of projects
• Possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures
