Job summary

Design ID Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of a varied portfolio of civil projects. Based at our Hillsborough practice, you will work with a collaborative team focused on technical excellence and thoughtful design to deliver high-quality projects.

You will manage projects from inception through construction, coordinating teams, budgets and programmes while mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Chartered Engineer status or approaching Chartered status.
• Proven ability to lead the technical delivery of civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of design standards, legislation, health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects from feasibility through construction.
• Prepare and oversee engineering reports, technical studies, specifications and calculations.
• Coordinate feasibility studies, site investigations and technical assessments.
• Manage project scope, budgets, programmes, resources and change control.
• Coordinate small project teams and multidisciplinary inputs with external consultants.
• Attend client, design-team and stakeholder meetings and present technical solutions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, authorities and other project professionals.
• Quality reviews of calculations, drawings and reports; ensure compliance with legislation and safety.
• Assess sustainability and environmental impact of proposed designs.
• Support technical bids and input into fee proposals and work-winning activities.
• Coach, mentor and support development of junior engineers and technicians.
