Acorn by Synergie, on behalf of a Exeter-based client, seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead highway and drainage design for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will manage projects from planning to detailed design, and build strong client relationships while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering.
• Experience delivering highway and infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of design standards and current practice.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience preparing infrastructure and drainage designs for development projects.
• Knowledge of highway and drainage approval processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Five+ years' civil engineering consultancy or development infrastructure experience.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Chartered or Incorporated status or progression towards professional accreditation.
• Experience with Site 3D, drainage modelling or similar.
• Experience managing client relationships and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Delivering highway, drainage and infrastructure designs for development projects.
• Providing technical input at planning, design and approval stages.
• Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, reports and documentation.
• Managing multiple projects and ensuring delivery against programme.
• Liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting technical approvals and adoption processes.
• Mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
• Contributing to project quality and client satisfaction.
