Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Senior Engineer / Consultant for civil engineering and flood risk work across the UK. The role involves supporting delivery across a portfolio of projects from early appraisal to detailed design and delivery, collaborating with government agencies, water companies, local authorities and private sector partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering and/or flood risk management.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Membership or progression towards ICE/CIWEM.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Understanding of project governance, stakeholder coordination and quality management.
• Experience supporting or leading technical reviews, workshops or construction-stage activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage workload and technical outputs.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project/client locations.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of civil engineering and flood risk projects across a varied portfolio.
• Contribute to technical approvals and respond to site and design queries.
• Develop and support high-quality engineering solutions.
• Assist with project and programme controls including risk registers and governance reporting.
• Support technical decision-making through workshops and option testing.
• Coordinate with delivery partners, technical specialists and stakeholders.
• Support technical reviews and construction-stage activities.
• Identify and elevate project issues appropriately.
• Contribute to lessons learned, best practice and continuous improvement.
• Support and guidance to junior colleagues.
• Manage own technical outputs and contribute to wider project delivery.
