Job summary

The Launch Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design work on major water and wastewater projects within a regulated UK infrastructure context. You will drive design excellence, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across project teams to deliver compliant, buildable solutions.

You will engage with clients and stakeholders, applying digital engineering and sustainability principles while visiting site locations to support delivery and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status advantageous.
• Experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions within regulated infrastructure.
• Strong design, quality, safety, and project delivery knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving civil engineering excellence across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supporting the development of civil engineering designs for major water and wastewater projects.
• Ensuring designs comply with all relevant legislation, standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborating closely with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical and buildable solutions.
• Managing interfaces between civil engineering and other technical disciplines.
• Undertaking technical reviews and acting as a technical checker for engineering deliverables.
• Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, adopting a collaborative "one team" approach.
• Identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency improvements, digital engineering solutions, and sustainable design practices.

What We're Looking For

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with an appropriate professional institution (advantageous)
• Proven experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions within regulated infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of design, quality, safety, and project delivery requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
