Job description

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join their UK design team.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the civil design elements of water industry projects as part of a multidisciplinary design team.

The role will involve leading projects or discrete packages of work, providing technical direction and supervision to junior and less experienced engineers, and contributing to the successful delivery of schemes from concept through to completion.

Location: Warrington
Working arrangements: Flexible hybrid working, combining office and remote working.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and review design concepts, calculations, detailed designs, drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Lead projects or discrete packages of work, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and required technical standards.
• Supervise junior members of the design team, providing technical guidance and support.
• Support the professional development of project team members through mentoring and ongoing technical input.
• Assist with the preparation, management and monitoring of project budgets, including resource planning, financial tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and review feasibility studies, appraisals, assessments and other technical reports.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary design team to develop effective and practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with the company's Integrated Management System, including Health & Safety, Environmental and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to successful project delivery from concept through to completion.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong technical background in the design of water and wastewater non-infrastructure works.
• Candidates from relevant related disciplines and engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organisational ability and the capability to produce clear, concise and technically robust reports.
• Proven ability to lead, contribute to and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
