Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Experience developing SuDS strategies for major developments.
• Knowledge of flood mitigation designs.

Responsibilities

• Produce efficient, high-quality technical designs for new build and refurbishment projects.
• Manage and mentor a small team.
• Develop designs for drainage networks and flood mitigation.

Job description

Our multi-disciplinary client is looking for a technical strong and creative and passionate Senior Civil Engineer who has experience in managing others to join their Manchester team. Working within a supportive and welcoming team, the role will require you to produce efficient, high-quality technical designs for both new build and refurbishment projects in a wide range of sectors. You will need to be enthusiastic, hard-working and looking to take on responsibility.

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum 6 years experience;
• Chartered, or near Chartered with ICE
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Experience of developing SuDS strategies for major developments;
• Detailed design of below ground drainage networks, including SuDS elements, for buildings, highway and public realm;
• Highway, pavement design and ground modelling experience is beneficial but not essential;
• Experience of design for flood mitigation including developing sites in Flood Zone 3 is beneficial but not essential;
• Knowledge of design software such as WinDes (Microdrainage), Civil 3D, and the use of BIM;
• Experience of managing a small team
