Position: Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Leeds
Hours: Full Time

Senior Civil Engineer

My client requires an experienced individual of high calibre to support on the delivery of projects to join a friendly team based in Leeds.

Ideally suited for those with experience in producing designs, managing the work of others within the team and enjoy having a number of projects at any one time in a fast-paced environment. They work across a diverse range of clients delivering challenging infrastructure projects for both the private and public sector within the Education, Housing, Commercial and Industrial sectors.

They anticipate candidates to have had several years experience in a similar role or to be stepping up to the next level. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Role & Experience Requirements

1. Road and Sewer design to adoptable standards (Typically but not limited to Section 38 / 278 & 104 / 185 Agreements of the relevant Highway and Water Acts).
2. Flood alleviation schemes
3. Flood risk assessments
4. Earthwork, levels & Cut Fill schemes
5. SUDS / swales / soakaway design / infiltration basins.
6. Competence with Civil 3D / Micro drainage / InfoDrainage.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate some or all the requirements below:

1. Be an enthusiastic professional who likes a challenge.
2. Want to work in a busy and growing team and have a desire to progress their career.
3. Have experience in the delivery and leading flood risk and/or surface water separation projects from concept through to construction.
4. Experience in writing reports and presenting to internal and external partners.
5. Experienced in holding meetings with clients and leading design discussions.
6. Experienced in working across multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently and effectively, such as with hydraulic modellers, engineers and environmental consultants.
7. Experience or an interest in developing Natural Flood Management solutions.
8. Have an understanding and experience in working with the NPPF.
9. Experience in IT systems such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office suite.
10. Be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field and Chartered with the ICE or CIWEM, or working towards achieving chartership.
11. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time.
12. Have a commitment to encouraging good health and safety practices within the workplace and within design.
13. Be a team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility.
14. Have the ability to mentor, encourage and support junior team members.
15. Have a desire to build upon your existing experience, continuing your professional development.
16. Hold a full UK Driving License
