Job summary

Twenty Twenty Consulting Ltd, based in Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead the civils team. The role covers design through to site, with hybrid working across Leeds, Cross Hills, and home, including at least one day per week in Cross Hills.

You will mentor graduates and technicians, drive technical decisions, manage client relationships, and contribute to tenders and business development. 5+ years’ experience and chartership pursuit are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in drainage and infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Experience with local authorities and regulators (LLFA, EA).
• Chartered or working towards ICE chartership.
• Experience with S38, S278 and S104 agreements and external works.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of civil designs across multiple projects and stages.
• Take responsibility for technical decisions and sound engineering judgement.
• Act as a key client contact, presenting solutions to clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor graduates, trainees and technicians, including ICE development.
• Plan and oversee delivery against programme, budget and quality.
• Monitor utilisation and contribute to project financial performance.
• Contribute to tenders, project planning and business development.

About the role

Join a well-established and growing firm of consulting engineers in Yorkshire, with genuinely exciting projects, a clear route to chartership and flexible working. They have plenty of long-standing employees who have developed and progressed to senior level, and Twenty Twenty Consulting Ltd is recruiting on their behalf.

An opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to take a leading role in a growing civils team, running projects from early feasibility through to construction and mentoring the engineers around you. The business is open to appointing at the right level for the right person, from Senior Civil Engineer up to Associate.

This is a combined design and site role, with most sites located across Yorkshire and Lancashire, and design, client and team leadership at its heart.

Hybrid working: you choose how many days you work from home, the Leeds office and the Cross Hills office (near Keighley), with a minimum of one day a week in Cross Hills.

What you will be doing

What you will bring

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience, with significant drainage and infrastructure design
• Strong Civil 3D and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage skills
• Experience working with local authorities and regulators (LLFA, EA)
• Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or equivalent)
• Experience of S38, S278 and S104 agreements, and external works and levels, is a real advantage
• Confident leading projects, teams and client relationships
