Job summary

Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is seeking Lead Civil Engineers to work within our Delivery group on Non-Infra UK Water Engineering projects. You will lead technical design, develop deliverables and guide project teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Design and/or Hydraulics/Structural background.
• Experience in design and build.
• Knowledge & experience in design/checking non-infrastructure water/wastewater treatment works.
• Ability to lead and manage a team and interface with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on department design guides, standards and codes.
• Prepare calculations and develop civil engineering deliverables within budgets and schedules.
• Guide and support continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams on complex projects.
• Prepare complex civil deliverables for large/multiple projects.
• Develop material/construction technique recommendations.
• Develop data management specifications for engineering work.
• Act as a technical specialist advising project teams.
• Mentor and develop junior staff.
• Comply with health & safety duties of designers.

Binnies UK part of the RSK Group is looking for Lead Civil Engineers working within our Delivery group on Non-Infra UK Water Engineering projects.

Functioning as a technical specialist and/or in a lead role you will be developing and applying advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems and applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Preparing calculations and develop civil engineering deliverables (models, drawings and reports) whilst adhering to project budgets, schedules and quality systems.
• Providing guidance to others and support continuous improvement
• Coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects
• Prepare a variety of complex civil engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects.
• Develop recommendations for materials and construction techniques.
• Develop specifications for the identification, collection and management of data for engineering work.
• Serve as a technical specialist and use knowledge and skill set to provide advice and guidance to project teams.
• Mentor and develop junior staff
• Be fully conversant and comply with all aspects of health & safety duties of Designers

Person Specification

• Civil Engineering Design and/or Hydraulics/Structural background
• Experience in design and build
• Knowledge & Experience in the design and checking of non-infrastructure water/wastewater treatment works design
• Ability to lead and manage a team of civil engineers and associated specialists (structural, geotechnical and hydraulics) and to interface with other disciplines in the production of engineering deliverables
