Job summary

Digital Waffle in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and mature a large-scale Cisco-centric network alongside Microsoft and VMware platforms. You will deliver BAU support, lead projects, and act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

The role covers network upgrades, server migrations, AD/DNS/DHCP, Microsoft 365, VMware, and ITIL-aligned practices. Strong CCNA/CCNP knowledge and PowerShell automation are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking experience, including Cisco Routing & Switching, MPLS, VRF, CCNA/CCNP level networking knowledge.
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
• VMware administration experience.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within ITIL environments.
• Storage technologies (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions such as Veeam.

Responsibilities

• Design, support and maintain enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, MPLS and VRF technologies.
• Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune where required.
• Administer VMware virtual infrastructure.
• Deliver infrastructure and network projects including server upgrades, migrations and platform improvements.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for networking and infrastructure issues.
• Produce technical documentation and follow ITIL best practices.
• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
