Job summary

Essential Employment is recruiting a Senior Childcare Solicitor in Stafford on a full-time temporary contract, paying £432 per day PAYE. The role involves completing highly complex legal casework, drafting and negotiating documents, representing clients at high level meetings, and conducting advocacy at court and tribunals.

You will support the Legal Services Unit, ensure compliance with quality standards, deliver chargeable hour targets, and participate in training.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of highly complex legal casework, including drafting and negotiating complex legal documents, to achieve the optimum outcome for the client.
• Represent the client at high level case-related meetings; conduct complex advocacy on evidence, including cross-examination of witnesses and experts at court hearings, and advocacy at tribunals, mediations, and related proceedings.
• Support the wider Legal Services Unit with complex casework, under supervision and training as required to meet LSU objectives.
• Lead by example in compliance with legal service quality standards; maintain time-recording to support professional standards and accreditation.
• Deliver chargeable hour targets as set by the Legal Services Manager.
• Undertake training per the training plan and deliver in-service training to the client department.
• Handle confidential data sensitively and securely in accordance with policy and statutory requirements.

Senior Childcare Solicitor needed in Stafford, at £432 per day PAYE - Reference: 5291130

• Complete all aspects of highly complex legal casework to include the drafting and negotiating of complex legal documents, in order to achieve the optimum outcome for the client.
• Represent the relevant client at all high level case related meetings, conduct complex advocacy on evidence. To include cross examination of witnesses and experts at court hearings, contested advocacy at small claims case management hearings/ dispute resolution hearings/tribunals/mediation/public inquiries/panels/committees, as required by the relevant department.
• Support the wider areas of the Legal Services Unit (LSU) with complex casework, with the required training and appropriate supervision, in order to help achieve the objectives of the LSU.
• Leading by example in ensuring compliance in legal service quality standards (as defined by LSU Office manual and Lexcel). Completing and promoting time-recording in order to maintain the professional standards and contribute to the process of securing re-accreditation.

• Undertake training as required by the training plan and deliver in service training to the client department.
