Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioner (LCPP) in Ely to lead safeguarding practice and provide professional oversight within the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team.

You will chair strategy meetings, lead complex multi-agency decision-making, sign off inquiries, support frontline practitioners with advice and mentoring, and promote high-quality child protection across the county.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualification frontline child protection experience.
• Ability to lead, challenge and influence practice.

Responsibilities

• Convene and chair strategy meetings, providing leadership and oversight of decision-making.
• Lead complex multi-agency decision-making and determine joint investigations.
• Sign off Section 47 enquiries and support families as needed.
• Provide governance, quality assurance and professional guidance on child protection processes.
• Chair child protection conferences and advance multi-agency safeguarding plans.
• Engage directly with children, young people and families to inform planning.
