Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Lead Child Protection Practitioner to provide professional leadership across the partnership. The role focuses on safeguarding decision‑making, complex threshold decisions, and multi‑agency forums including conferences and investigations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in frontline child protection services.

Responsibilities

• Convene and chair strategy meetings, providing leadership and oversight of decision‑making.
• Lead complex multi‑agency decision‑making and determine joint investigations with partner agencies.
• Sign off Section 47 enquiries and support Family Help Practitioner visits when required.
• Provide oversight, scrutiny and quality assurance of child protection practice and processes.
• Chair child protection conferences and support development of multi‑agency child protection plans.
