Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking a qualified Child Protection Conference Chair to lead statutory multi-agency conferences, ensuring decisions are timely, evidence-based and child-centered. You will provide professional independence, challenge and oversight across partner agencies to safeguard children.

You will monitor and support the development, review and implementation of Child Protection Plans, promoting continuous improvement in safeguarding practices within Coventry's Quality Assurance

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with registration in Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care and safeguarding.
• Experience providing management, supervisory, mentoring, or quality assurance oversight.

Responsibilities

• Chair statutory multi‑agency Child Protection Conferences with independence and robust analysis.
• Ensure timely, evidence‑based decision making focused on children's needs.
• Monitor and ensure progress of Child Protection Plans; review and quality assure safeguarding practice.
