Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting two Advanced Practitioners to join the Child Protection Resource across Edinburgh. You will undertake initial assessments for children not already in social work, focusing on safety, wellbeing, and prevention.

The role requires a recognised social work qualification and substantial post-qualifying experience in Children & Families, including complex child protection investigations.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with post-qualifying experience in Children & Families.
• Experience with complex child protection investigations.
• Strong assessment and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to work with partners to develop plans for safety and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake initial assessments for children with new protection concerns.
• Work in strengths-based and restorative ways with families.
• Identify needs and implement plans to improve wellbeing for children and families.
• Collaborate with partners to share information and negotiate effective plans.
