City of Edinburgh Council is seeking two Advanced Practitioners to join our Child Protection Resource, a city-wide team conducting initial assessments for children not already involved with social work services where there is a new child protection concern.

The post requires a recognised social work qualification and considerable post-qualifying experience in a Children & Families practice team, including complex child protection investigations.

Formación

• Well developed assessment and communication skills.

• Breadth and depth of knowledge about child development, attachment and identity.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake initial assessments for children not already involved with social work services where there is a new child protection concern.
• Work with children and young people who need protection using strengths-based and restorative approaches.
• Put in place plans to keep children safe and improve wellbeing.
• Demonstrate flexible thinking and contribute to practice development and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with partners to share information and negotiate effective plans for children.
• Analyse complex situations within tight timescales and adapt approaches accordingly.
