Job summary

Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to join the Urgent Care Pathway within CFHD, covering Devon with countywide responsibilities and some travel.

The role involves expert assessment, formulation and intervention, plus clinical leadership and system-wide support across seven-day extended-hours rotas. It requires robust experience with children and young people presenting with mental health crises.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge acquired through degree with specialist training or equivalent experience to Masters level in a relevant core profession (e.g. Psychological profession, Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy)
• Training in an evidence-based therapeutic approach.
• Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body (e.g. NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP)
• Training in supervision and/or leadership skills or willingness to work towards.
• Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Responsibilities

• Receive and communicate highly complex information with children, young people, carers and families.
• Lead and supervise within a multidisciplinary team across agencies.
• Support reflective practice and evidence-based care through supervision.
• Manage high distress, trauma and emotion with empathy and resilience.
• Coordinate with other professionals and chair or attend meetings.
• Lead clinical meetings and ensure accurate minutes.
• Present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to implement evidence-based care.
