This hands-on role designs, implements, and optimizes CDC technologies across mainframe and distributed environments, handling high-volume data processing with ownership and accountability. The candidate will reverse engineer complex interfaces, read transaction logs, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Product Management, Support,

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, or comparable systems programming languages.
• Experience with enterprise-scale software involving database internals, CDC, or transaction processing.
• Ability to work within large, mature legacy codebases.
• Experience reverse engineering software behavior, logs, and binary formats.
• Hands-on experience across mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Strong performance optimization, concurrency, reliability, and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement Change Data Capture and data integration technologies.
• Develop software to read and process database transaction logs.
• Analyze database internals, encodings, and storage formats.
• Reverse engineer undocumented interfaces and data structures.
• Build, compile, debug, and test software across platforms.
• Diagnose performance, reliability, and data-integrity issues.
• Guide engineering direction for CDC capabilities and standards.
• Mentor engineers in systems programming and database tech.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Support, and Customer Success to solve complex issues.
• Support critical production escalations.
