Medidata seeks a Principal Data Engineer/Architect to lead and implement a next-generation Object-Centric Data Fabric. You will architect a semantic data layer, unify multi-stream clinical datasets, and apply AI-driven tooling to automate mapping, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven years of professional experience in enterprise data engineering and architecture.
• Experience with Snowflake data platforms and Apache Iceberg.
• Experience with real-time streaming (Kafka) and AWS.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and QA.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic vision and hands-on work on an Object-Centric Data Fabric.
• Design Data Lake architecture centered on Apache Iceberg with Snowflake integration.
• Build and optimize real-time pipelines using Kafka, AWS, and Snowflake.
• Develop Java/Scala services and leverage AI tools for rapid coding and testing.
• Ensure data governance, HIPAA/GxP compliance, and validation artifacts.
