Job summary

Plumpton College's catering team is seeking a senior role to support the day-to-day service in the main dining room and other outlets. You will ensure food safety and hygiene, supervise stock and portions, and contribute to events and functions across the college on a seven-day rota.

The role requires a Food Hygiene Certificate, DBS check, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• A catering qualification or relevant catering experience.
• A current Food Hygiene Certificate.
• At least two years in a similar role.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
• Works well as part of a team.
• A full enhanced DBS check.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the main dining room and other catering outlets
• Delivering a friendly, high-quality service to students, staff and visitors
• Supervising cleanliness, food safety and hygiene standards across catering areas
• Monitoring cleaning records, food temperatures, stock control and portion control
• Support catering for meetings, events and functions, including some evenings and weekends
• Providing cover across other College catering outlets when required
• Undertaking manual handling duties as part of the role
