We are seeking an ambitious and driven Senior Category Manager to build our UK grocery range focussing on ambient and store cupboard assortments, providing the best selection of items for our UK consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure we offer the best products to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing and sales activity for the Ambient/Store Cupboard product category.
  • Business development with brands and suppliers, bringing the leading brands on board.
  • Analyse key metrics and identify sourcing gaps to derive strategies on how to improve supplier and category performance;
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, including pricing structures and promotional campaigns.
  • Identify and engage with potential partners, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and cost efficiencies, validate fees, and ensure accurate data maintenance.
  • Curate and select category-specific products that align with consumer demand and usage scenarios.
  • Collaborate with international supply chain teams to secure necessary resources and support.
  • Analyse sales and procurement data to identify trends, propose improvements, and enhance gross profit margins.
  • Engage with regional and local teams to implement strategies proposed.
