Job summary

Emerald Group in London seeks a Senior Catastrophe Modeller to lead technical modelling activities using approved tools and data sources. You will gather, prepare and import data, validate results and present analytics to brokers and clients.

The role requires significant catastrophe modelling experience with Moody;s RMS or Verisk, advanced Excel, and strong SQL skills, plus excellent presentation capabilities for client-facing delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Catastrophe Modelling role using Moodys RMS and/or Verisk.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL programming experience.
• Excellent presentation skills for analytics delivery to brokers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical modelling using approved models and tools.
• Gather data from multiple sources and prepare it for import; apply catastrophe modelling tools to data, analyse and validate results.
• Present modelling reports to Brokers and Clients.
• Support growth by identifying profitable areas and monitoring catastrophe statistics, advising management of potential issues.

Job description

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Conduct technical modelling utilising approved models and tools
• Gather data from various sources and prepare it for import, apply catastrophe modelling software (Verisk AIR & Moody’s RMS statistical modelling tools) to data, analyse and validate results in a timely manner.
• Present modelling reports to Brokers and Clients
• Support and sustain profitable organizational growth by providing effective catastrophe analysis that identifies profitable areas to target and highlights unprofitable areas as well as monitoring key catastrophe statistics and advising management of possible issues.

Experience required:

• Significant experience in a Catastrophe Modelling role using one or ideally both of Moody’s RMS and Verisk
• Advanced use of Excel
• Intermediate to Advanced SQL programming experience
• Excellent presentation skills, for delivery of analytics outputs to brokers and clients
