Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Casualty Claims Lead to own complex, high-value casualty claims and guide the team with technical insight. You will act as a senior escalation point and mentor colleagues while delivering exceptional client outcomes.

The role focuses on commercial casualty claims, policy coverage, liability and quantum, with duties spanning from initial notification through to resolution, negotiating with insurers, loss adjusters, and legal advisers

Qualifications

• Experience handling complex, high-value or contentious casualty claims.
• Strong knowledge of policy coverage, liability and quantum.
• Experience with Employers' Liability and Public Liability.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead the handling of high-value, complex and contentious Casualty claims.
• Provide technical direction on policy coverage, liability and quantum.
• Develop effective claims strategies to achieve the best outcomes.
• Manage litigation and legal processes where appropriate.
• Act as escalation point for technically challenging or disputed claims.
• Provide proactive, strategic claims advice to key clients.
• Attend client sites and support clients during significant incidents.
• Lead negotiations with insurers, loss adjusters and solicitors.
• Drive early coverage agreement and efficient settlement strategies.
• Analyse claims data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
