Job summary

Fordingbridge Nursing Home, part of Allegra Care, is seeking an experienced Senior Carer (Care Partner) to join us on permanent nights, 36 hours per week, with alternate weekends. This role requires leading by example and guiding a dedicated care team to maintain high standards.

You will deliver compassionate, person-centred care, administer medications safely, monitor residents' wellbeing, and support colleagues with good communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Previous Senior Carer level experience in a residential or nursing home is essential.
• NVQ or equivalent in Health and Social Care at Level 2 or above; Level 3 is desirable.
• Experience administering medication and understanding safe medication procedures.
• Ability to lead, support and motivate colleagues.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, professional and caring approach.
• Commitment to supporting older people and delivering high-quality care.

About the role

As a Senior Carer, you’ll play an important part in the daily running of the home, providing hands‑on care while guiding and supporting other members of the care team.

Your responsibilities will include:

What we're looking for

Previous experience working at Senior Carer level in a residential or nursing home is essential.

You’ll also need:

• An NVQ or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care at Level 2 or above. Level 3 is desirable.

• Experience administering medication and a sound understanding of safe medication procedures.

• The confidence to lead, support and motivate colleagues.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A reliable, professional and caring approach.

• The ability to recognise concerns and respond appropriately.

• A genuine commitment to supporting older people and delivering high‑quality care.
