Job summary

ClwydAlyn Housing’s Chirk Court in Chirk, Wrexham is seeking a Senior Carer to support residents in a warm, home-like environment. You will help lead care delivery in a small, 14-resident household and work 25 hours per week to provide person-centred care and build trusting relationships with residents.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (NVQ/QCF/Diploma) or willingness to work towards.
• Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification or relevant equivalent.
• All Wales Induction Framework (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care in a dignified and respectful manner.
• Administer medication safely and accurately.
• Spend time talking, listening and building relationships with residents.
• Notice changes in wellbeing and respond appropriately.
• Lead and support care staff on shift.
• Assist with rota planning to help the team run smoothly.

About Chirk Court

Chirk Court is a warm, welcoming residential care home in the heart of Chirk, close to the England-Wales border.

Home to older adults, including residents living with dementia, the home is designed aroundfive smaller household-style communities.Rather than supporting many residents at once, you'll lead a team caring for around 14 residents within their own household area.

This creates a calmer, more personal environment where residents are truly known as individuals and meaningful relationships can be built every day.

We're also proud of our sensory garden, which provides a peaceful space for residents to relax, socialise and enjoy the outdoors. The garden has even received recognition from The King for the positive impact it has had on residents and the wider community.

This isn't a rushed, faceless service. We take pride in creating a place where residents feel safe and valued, families feel reassured, and colleagues genuinely support one another.

What your day might look like

No two days are the same, but you can expect to:

• Support residents with personal care in a dignified and respectful way
• Administer medication safely and accurately

• Help create a calm, homely environment
• Lead and support care staff on shift
• Assist with rota planning to help the team run smoothly

You'll also have the support of senior colleagues across the home, so you're never expected to manage things on your own.
