Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a Senior Support Worker for a fixed-term 12-month contract, 28 hours per week, 08:00 to 17:00. You will support the Registered Manager, supervise staff, assist with rota cover, and contribute to audits to maintain high care standards.

Responsibilities include medication training and administering medications, liaising with healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with CQC regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team within a care environment.
• Strong understanding of delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, CQC standards, and care sector best practice.
• Passion for providing outstanding care and support to residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting staff on a day-to-day basis.
• Assisting with rota cover, staff development, and performance support.
• Undertaking audits to ensure high standards of care and compliance.
• Completing medication training and administering medication to residents.
• Liaising with medical professionals and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
• Promoting and maintaining compliance with CQC regulations, policies, and procedures.
