Job summary

Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking an Extra Care Support Worker to provide personal care, basic health support and practical assistance to service users in a care setting. You will help individuals to live as independently as possible while promoting rehabilitation and social engagement.

You will work with a team, follow care plans, maintain records and participate in reviews. The role may include evening, night and weekend shifts within a flexible roster, with a DBS check required

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required prior to commencement.
• Ability to work flexibly in a 24/7 care environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic care and support to meet service users' physical and psychological needs, promoting social life in line with their wishes.
• Act as a Key Worker to a number of service users and participate in Review meetings.
• Keep up-to-date written records and follow individual care/service plans.
• Assist with personal care and basic nursing tasks as trained, including monitoring health and reporting concerns.
• Respond to emergencies under supervision and assist with medication supervision as required.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment and promote equality and safety.
