Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a proactive Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our South Africa Lodge team in Waterlooville. This on-site role involves supporting residents with complex needs, promoting dignity and independence, and collaborating with nursing staff.

We require a minimum 1 year of UK care experience and NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, with an aim to complete Level 3 following probation. Compassion and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a similar UK care role.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care with view to Level 3 after probation.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents and families.
• Caring and empathetic approach to residents and visitors.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Prioritise workload of the care team, seek nurse in charge guidance when needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and clinical reviews as prescribed by the Nurse in charge.
• Observe resident progress against goals and report changes to a registered nurse.
• Support daily living activities including personal care, meals and social activities.
• Help residents stay as independent as possible.
• Respect residents' rights to choice, privacy and dignity at all times.
