Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate Housekeeping Assistant for South Africa Lodge in Waterlooville. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents with complex needs, working as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 6-12 months Housekeeping experience within a care setting (essential)
• A passion for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation
• Friendly and proactive approach with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues
• Confident communication skills – both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Create a clean, welcoming environment for residents across all spaces
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
• Clean and care for communal areas and residents’ rooms including vacuuming, polishing and mopping
• Receive training on health and safety protocols and safe use of cleaning products/equipment
• Ensure housekeeping supplies are clean, stocked and ready for use
• Provide a warm presence that contributes to residents feeling respected and uplifted

South Africa Lodge is a 99-bed home providing exceptional care across six specialised units. We support residents living with complex needs, including neuro-degenerative conditions, dementia, and mental health challenges. Our focus is always on the person, not the diagnosis - creating a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment where residents can truly thrive. We are proud to be rated GOOD with CQC.

What You’ll Bring

Your Working Pattern

We offer a stable, structured rota to support your work-life balance:

• Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday – 08:00 to 18:00
• Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 08:00 to 18:00

10-hour shifts, averaging 35 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing

• As a valued member of our housekeeping team, you’ll play a key role in creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
• Cleaning and caring for all communal areas and residents’ rooms – including vacuuming, polishing, and mopping
• Receive training on health and safety protocols, including the safe use of cleaning products and equipment
• Ensuring all housekeeping supplies are clean, stocked, and ready for use
• While you won’t be delivering hands-on care, your warm presence and attention to detail will help ensure our residents feel respected, comfortable, and uplifted throughout your time with them
