Job summary

Darnford Rose Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our team. This full-time role offers 38.5 hours per week with a competitive hourly rate of £14.20 per hour.

You will lead by example, support colleagues and help residents receive the highest standards of care in a safe, welcoming and homely environment. This is an excellent step for career progression within our growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home or healthcare setting.
• Level 2 or 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
• Experience supervising or leading a care team.
• Confident leading shifts and supporting colleagues.
• Experience administering medication or willingness to undertake training.
• Good understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and CQC standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Reliable, compassionate and committed to outstanding care.
• Proactive, professional and passionate about developing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shifts to ensure residents receive safe, high-quality care throughout the day.
• Deliver person-centred care while promoting residents' dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• Supervise, support and mentor Care Assistants, upholding high standards of care.
• Assist with care planning and risk assessments to meet individual needs.
• Administer, record and monitor medication per policies and regulations.
• Liaise with GPs, District Nurses, Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
• Complete accurate care records and handovers.
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Promote a positive, safe and supportive environment for residents, visitors and colleagues.
• Support the Home Management Team with day-to-day operations.
