Job summary

Bupa Hatfield Peverel Lodge Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care on a 7:30am–7:30pm rota. You will work closely with the nurse to support clinical duties, observe care plans, and ensure accurate record keeping.

The role requires NVQ3 in care (completed or underway) and a passionate, team-focused approach to supporting residents and their families. Flexible weekend availability is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care.
• Motivated, positive and with great interpersonal skills.
• Enjoy working in a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
• Support with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping.
• Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers.
• Help with training and supervision of new staff members.
• Build relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.
• Assist residents with a range of personal care duties.
