Job summary

Pemberley Manor Care Home in Orpington, part of The Country Court Family, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant (Nights). You will help residents with emotional and social needs, assist with medications, meals, and lead the night shift team. A caring, communicative approach and dementia understanding are essential.

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is preferred or you must be willing to work towards it; previous leadership and night-shift experience strongly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant with team leadership.
• Comfortable with night shifts.
• Friendly and caring attitude.
• Able to engage with residents and families.
• Understanding of dementia care.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or working towards it.
• Great written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Aid residents' emotional well-being and social needs.
• Administer and monitor medications.
• Support residents at meal times.
• Mentor and assist new staff.
• Implement and review care plans.
• Plan and supervise care assistants' workload.

Hours: Nights, 44 hours per week available, working weekends on rota

About The Senior Care Assistant Role

Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents' lives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs
• Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
• Supporting residents at meals time
• Mentor & assist new employees.
• Implement, monitor and review care plans to meet residents specific needs.
• Plan, allocate & supervise the work of the team of care assistants

About You

• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant & leading a team.
• Be no stranger to working night shifts
• Have a friendly & caring attitude.
• Able to engage well with the residents and their families
• Have an understanding of people with Dementia
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care or willing to work towards this.
• Great communication skills, both written & verbal.
