Job summary

Pemberley Manor Care Home in Orpington is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our Country Court family. You will support residents daily, mentor new staff, and help implement care plans to meet individual needs, including dementia care, with a focus on emotional well-being and dignity.

Hours are Days, 44 per week, with weekend rota and not accepting overseas sponsorship. This role requires leadership, great communication, and a compassionate approach to residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Aging and dementia care principles applied in daily duties.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with residents and families.
• Willingness to work night shifts if required.
• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant and leading a team.
• Commitment to high-quality care and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs.
• Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
• Supporting residents at meals time.
• Mentor & assist new employees.

About The Senior Care Assistant Role

Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs
• Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
• Supporting residents at meals time
• Mentor & assist new employees.
• Implement, monitor and review care plans to meet residents specific needs.
• Plan, allocate & supervise the work of the team of care assistants

About You

• Experience as a Senior Care Assistant & leading a team.
• Be no stranger to working night shifts
• Have a friendly & caring attitude.
• Able to engage well with the residents and their families
• Have an understanding of people with Dementia
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care or willing to work towards this.
• Great communication skills, both written & verbal.
