Lancashire County Council is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for a part-time role based in Thornton Cleveleys. You will lead a team to deliver high-quality care to older people, with a four-week rolling rota including alternative weekends.
Applicants should have an NVQ level 2 in health and social care and be willing to achieve level 3. The salary is pro-rata for 30.5 hours per week, reflecting compassionate, person-centred care across our facilities.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will need to hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in health and social care and be willing to complete level 3. In addition, you will have experience leading, coaching and motivating a team to deliver high quality care
Our committed team provides care to more than 1,000 adults across Lancashire. It runs 16 Care Homes and 13 Day Centres where the team provides support for older people, adults living with dementia and their families.

This position is part time. Please note, the salary quoted is full-time equivalent and the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
