Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a part-time Senior Care Assistant to support older people in Fylde, Kirkham. The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in health and social care with willingness to progress to Level 3.

You will lead a team, coach colleagues and ensure high-quality, compassionate care that respects residents’ choices and dignity. Hours are 22.5 per week with the salary quoted as full-time equivalent; pro-rata pay applies.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Willing to complete Level 3.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will need to hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in health and social care and be willing to complete level 3. In addition, you will have experience leading, coaching and motivating a team to deliver high quality care.

Our committed team provides care to more than 1,000 adults across Lancashire. It runs 16 Care Homes and 13 Day Centres where the team provides support for older people, adults living with dementia and their families.

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council.
