Job description

We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant (day and night shifts available) to support the Home Manager, Deputy, and Assistant Manager in the home's management, and to be accountable for the residents, creating a calm and secure atmosphere throughout the night.


Rate of Pay

£13.38 to £14.20 Per Hour

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  1. Assist the Manager, Deputy Manager, and Assistant Manager in running the home efficiently and compassionately in their absence.
  2. Carry out a walking handover and ensure all residents are accounted for at the start and end of each shift.
  3. Contribute to the efficient operation of the home and foster a positive atmosphere by leading by example.
  4. Support staff training and development, ensuring the in-house training program is implemented and monitored effectively.
  5. Support residents with personal care, maintaining and promoting independence.
  6. Assist residents in using the environment according to their care plans and ensure understanding of the Mobile Care Monitoring System (MCM).
  7. Promote all aspects of personal care with dignity and respect.
  8. Perform care duties or assist with cleaning duties throughout the night shift, which is a waking duty.
  9. Ensure the home is safe and secure.
  10. Conduct regular checks throughout the night to monitor each resident's needs, following home guidelines and policies.
Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
  1. Minimum of NVQ Level 2, working towards NVQ Level 3 or above.
  2. Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor staff, and to be a team player.
  3. Effective communication and interaction skills with residents and staff.
