Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to join our award-winning team. You will support the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Your role includes monitoring wellbeing, contributing to person-centred care planning, assisting with medication, and supporting staff development.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar care environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude toward supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Be involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Act as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
