Job summary

Bupa UK’s Thatcham Court Care Home is seeking a Senior Care Assistant (Bank) to lead the daily operation of a dementia care unit and deliver person-centred care. You will work with the Nurse and wider team to support residents, families and the local community.

In this bank role, you’ll be trained in digital care, contribute to care plans, observe medications, and supervise Care Assistants across shifts, while upholding high safety and dignity standards for residents in Thatcham.

Qualifications

• Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care.
• Motivated, positive with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a close-knit team and providing compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
• Support with clinical duties and assist with medications and care plans.
• Lead a team of Care Assistants and manage shift handovers.
• Assist residents with personal care and build relationships with families.
• Support training and supervision of new staff.
• Coordinate with external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.
