Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join Birchmere Mews Care Home in Knowle, Solihull. You will work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.

As part of our award-winning team, you’ll play a crucial role in monitoring residents, supporting medication needs, and contributing to monthly care plan evaluations. DBS clearance and eligibility to work in the UK are required, with opportunities to grow

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care homes.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar care environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to support residents and staff.
  • Flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and update care plans accordingly.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with medication requirements.
  • Conduct staff supervisions and support their development.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, relatives, and health and social care professionals.

About The Role

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other Responsibilities Will Include
  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our Ideal Candidate Must
  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
