Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Amarna House Care Home in York. You will join a warm, dedicated team focused on delivering high standards of personal care in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role requires an NVQ3 in care, 2 years’ experience in a similar setting, and strong communication skills. DBS check and UK work eligibility are required; this is a permanent, on-site position with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work with the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care.
  • Provide a safe, caring, inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Assist with medication responsibilities and monthly evaluations.
  • Support staff development and supervision as needed.
  • Act as a key point of contact with residents and relatives, escalating concerns as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.

  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
