Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for Winchester Heights Care Home in Hampshire. You will help deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, supportive environment, while supporting the care team and residents with respect and compassion.

The role emphasises person-centred care planning, monitoring wellbeing, and assisting with medications, with opportunities to supervise staff and engage with residents, families and care professionals daily.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
• Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
• Support residents with medication requirements.
• Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development.
• Be a key contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive , and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff .

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.


• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.


• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.


• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.


• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.
