About The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every team member understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories, and by joining us, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give back to them.
Note: We currently have only night shifts available, full-time positions within this Home.
Your role involves planning and delivering care that promotes residents' security, dignity, and independence. You will get to know residents and their families to ensure personalized care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of care and positively influencing your team. Whether demonstrating how to use a walking frame, assisting at mealtimes, or communicating with families, kindness is paramount.
You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
Maintaining accurate records and building strong team relationships are key responsibilities for a Senior Care Assistant.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent) and be willing to work towards Level 3. A background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of dementia care are desirable. What’s essential is your positive energy, ability to get along with people, good record-keeping skills, effective time management, and a considerate, kind communication style.
