Job summary

Forbes House Care Home in Ayr is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents. You will work alongside Registered Nurses and care staff to maintain independence, dignity and choice for service users, while contributing to the home’s daily operations.

You’ll be compassionate and reliable, with SVQ qualifications desirable, and you’ll participate in care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• SVQ qualifications and Senior Care Assistant competencies are desirable/required in line with the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support.
• Promote people's independence, dignity, privacy and choice.
• Support individuals with personal care and daily living activities.
• Develop positive relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
• Contribute to and implement care plans and risk assessments.
• Monitor individuals' wellbeing and report any changes appropriately.
• Support with medication in line with training, competencies and company procedures.
• Work alongside Registered Nurses, Home Managers and other healthcare professionals.
• Support and guide Care Assistants and other members of the team.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and support colleagues to maintain high standards of care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety and infection prevention and control.
• Support meaningful activities and help individuals achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Forbes House Care Home.

You will play an important role in providing high-quality, person-centred care while supporting colleagues and helping to ensure the smooth running of the service.

You will support people to maintain their independence, dignity, and choice, ensuring they have a voice in their care and are treated as individuals.
