Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for a well-established nursing home on the outskirts of Dumfries. The role is permanent, full time with 12-hour night shifts from 8pm to 8am, at £15.50 per hour (£35,464 per annum). A choice of day or night shifts supports work‑life balance.

You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care, lead the care team, and contribute to training and progression. Applicants should have N/SVQ Level 3 (or be working towards it) and be eligible to work in

Qualifications

• SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent.
• Medication training is desirable (training can be provided).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Positive, proactive approach with a passion for care.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.

A small, welcoming and well-established nursing home on the outskirts of Dumfries is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join their dedicated team on a permanent basis.

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of person-centred care are delivered to residents. You will lead by example, supporting and guiding the care team to provide compassionate, consistent care in line with best practice, regulatory standards, and individual care plans.

What we are looking for in a Senior Care Assistant:

• N/SVQ Level 3 qualified (or working towards)
• Medication training is desirable (training can be provided)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, proactive approach with a genuine passion for care
• Enthusiastic, motivated, and confident working as part of a close-knit team
• Ability to support, mentor, and motivate junior staff
• Full eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship or visa switch available).
• Willingness to undertake a PVG check.
