Job summary

The Cinnamon Care Collection is seeking a Senior Care Assistant at Abbotswood Court in Romsey, near Southampton. The role is 36 hours per week on day shifts with occasional weekend work to support residents with residential and dementia needs.

You will join a close-knit team, promoting independence, choice and person-centred care while providing supervision and mentoring to junior staff and assisting with medication administration in line with required qualifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent with knowledge of care standards.
• Supervisory experience and medication administration experience.
• Two years’ experience with older people and dementia is desirable.

Senior Care Assistant – £14.75 per hour plus company benefits. 36 hours per week – day shifts to include alternate weekend working. Abbotswood Court is a 60-bed residential and dementia care home located in Romsey, near Southampton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and reliable Senior Care Assistant to join our care team, caring for residents with residential and dementia needs. Our team members work to promote choice, individuality and independence for residents and support each other as a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Support the care team in providing high-quality care to residential and dementia residents.
• Promote choice, individuality and independence for residents at all times.
• Offer supervision and mentoring to care assistants where applicable.
• Assist with medication administration in line with relevant qualifications and standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) in care, with sound knowledge of care legislation including CQC Fundamental Standards.
• Supervisory experience and medication administration experience (or relevant qualification).
• Previous experience as a Senior Carer is desirable.
• Two years’ previous experience working with older people and people with dementia.
