Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Senior Care Assistant to join Southbourne Beach Care Home in Bournemouth. You’ll work with the care team to deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring, open and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

The role requires an NVQ 3 or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar care setting. You should communicate effectively, be flexible to cover a range of responsibilities, and be responsive to residents

Qualifications

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years’ experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of changes impacting care and updating care plans accordingly.
  • Be involved in person-centred care planning, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff with their development where required.
  • Act as a key point of contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, and health and social care professionals, escalating concerns as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.
