Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust seeks an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the Cardiac Surgery team (CICU/CHDU). The post is Band 8a, permanent, with 37.5 hours per week and flexible shifts to cover 24/7 clinical care.

The role requires autonomous practice and involvement in education and research within a nationally recognised centre. The ACP will work across CICU/CHDU, provide expert clinical assessment and management, and participate in MDT decisions while promoting

Qualifications

• Current registration with professional body such as NMC or HCPC.
• MSc in advanced clinical practice or equivalent and NHS England Digital Badge.
• Registered Independent Non-Medical prescriber.
• Evidence of teaching, supervision & assessment skills.
• ALS Provider/Instructor.
• Mentor/assessor or teaching qualification.
• NHSE Digital Badge (or working toward it).
• FICM ACCP membership.
• Cardiac Advanced Life Support Provider.
• Completed Non-medical Authorisation of Blood Components course.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous healthcare to CICU/CHDU patients.
• Accountable for independent clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Refer to relevant specialties for investigations and facilitate safe discharge.
• Contribute to audit, research and policy updates in Cardiac Surgery.
• Maintain competence with annual appraisal/ARCP.
• Supervise and support AHP, nursing and medical staff.
• Lead operational development and drive practice changes.
• Allocate protected time for professional development.
