Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Cardiac Physiologist (Band 6) or Chief Cardiac Physiologist (Band 7) for Devices/Invasive. The post involves pacemaker/ICD procedures, follow-ups and home monitoring reviews, with independence in bradycardia pacing and basic angiography.

Applicants should have HCPC registration, a BSc in Clinical Physiology, RCCP/AHCS, and pursuing BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA qualifications. Fixed-term, 12 months, part-time.

Qualifications

• Qualifications equivalent to gain registration with HCPC as a Cardiac Physiologist/Scientist.
• BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent).
• RCCP/AHCS Registration.
• Working towards Post Graduate Education - BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA.
• Holds relevant Post Graduate Education accreditation - BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA.

Responsibilities

• Present at pacemaker implants and analyse device and patient interaction; report suitability of electrode positions to implanting physician.
• Carry out implantable device follow up clinics using dedicated device programmers; write reports and independently initiate pacemaker therapy prescriptions based on findings.
